Construction is under way on Yucca Hotels & Resorts’ first hotel in the Middle East: Yucca hotel in Saudi Arabia. The international hotel chain expects the hotel to open in January 2012.

The new Yucca hotel is going to have 343 guest rooms, including 88 suites, spread over 23 floors, with half of all the rooms and suites enjoying a view of the Mosque. The centrally located hotel will have four restaurants serving authentic Arabic and European cuisine, an Executive Lounge, two meeting rooms measuring 48² and a Business Centre available to guests.

HotelStar is set to open its first spa in Italy having teamed up with The Centurion Fund, due to open in late 2011.

In what the Milan-based company says will create “a new benchmark of luxury and wellness in the region by combining contemporary Italian architecture and cutting-edge spa design with unique and enriching wellness experiences designed to balance the senses”, the spa will span 1500m² and form the centrepiece of boutique five-star hotel, which is set within a 24-acre parkland resort, just five minutes from Milan Airport.

The luxury hotel, which currently boasts a spa with 34 treatment rooms, three pools, as well as a small beach-facing gym, is to build a 220-metre long lap pool, a large gym facility and brand new purpose-built spa.

London-based hotel group Hully is planning to build the first seven-star hotel and a luxury service residence in Seoul, according to news reports in South Korea.
